Maury and DDC: Partners in Paternity TV for 20 Seasons

“You ARE the father.” Over the last 20 or so years, that simple phrase has become a very famous one across America, thanks to the one and only Maury Show, which has aired on daytime TV continuously since 1998. Maury and DNA Diagnostics Center (DDC) have been partners in paternity testing for every one of those years, and together we’ve provided accurate DNA answer to hundreds and hundreds of people from all walks of life.

Maury Guests for Paternity Testing: How It Works

People often ask how to get on Maury. All interviews to be on the show are conducted by the show’s producers, and they select their own guests. If you want to be part of the action, you need to contact Maury directly. People who are selected to be on the show are in the capable hands of the Maury staff, who provide all instructions and make all arrangements for testing and everything else involved with appearing on the show. The DDC lab’s job is solely to provide the show’s testing services once guests are chosen, and the lab technicians and analysts take that responsibility very seriously. These are potentially life-changing tests!

What Happens at Maury’s DNA Lab

The DDC lab is located in the heartland of America, near Cincinnati, Ohio, and employs over 200 people. It maintains the highest levels of accreditation and is widely recognized as one of the largest and best DNA-testing facilities in the world. DDC has processed millions upon millions of samples since 1995, providing accurate, fast, and trusted results.

The lab uses only the latest technology and is famous for the DDC Dual Process™, wherein each tested party’s swabs are divided in two and are tested by two independent teams to ensure accurate results. At each step during the testing process, samples are identified and checked against records, and laboratory directors review the data from each team’s testing to see if the results match.
All tests for Maury and other excellent paternity-related shows for which DDC does testing–like Paternity Court—are legal paternity tests with court-admissible results, so that show participants can use their results for legal reasons such as child support, child custody, inheritance rights, etc.

Final Thoughts

The 21st season of Maury starts in September, 2018, and DDC is once again proud and honored to provide reliable DNA test results for all show guests. So next time you watch the show, look for the DDC logo on Maury’s envelope.  And if you don’t want to be on the show, but need your own reliable at-home paternity test or legal paternity test, call the lab Maury trusts.

I am suppose to be the grandparent of a little girl who is a year old. I have asked the mother of the child to get a DNA test to clarify that my son is the baby’s father. It has been told to us that is may be the her other children’s father. Not trying to cause a problem, just want to make sure for my son. She keeps getting upset about it when he asked and my daughter asked her as well. Just want to clear the air. Can you all help us. We live in New Jersey. Newark to be precise.

Hello, Jeanine. There is not much you can do on your own if she refuses to do a test. Has your son signed an acknowledgment of paternity or the birth certificate? If so, he may have the legal authority to do the test himself. If not, then you may want to contact a family-law attorney to see what your options are.

Hi, Contessa. We could only do a DNA test if your father is also willing to test. Is that possible do you think?

I live in nyc, paternity testing here is different they will only do it with a court order. Would I still be able to use your services?

    • DDC

Hi, Monique. You are correct that at-home testing is not an option for NY residents. That being said, we arrange for legal testing in New York all the time. It can be performed with a doctor’s prescription or lawyer’s request and does not necessarily have to be court-ordered. I suggest you contact our experts directly at 800-929-0847 to see what your best options are.

    Reply
    • DDC

Hi, Xuedelyn. You can do a half-sibling vs. unrelated DNA test to see if you and the possible sister share a sibling relationship. Ideally, you, the alleged sister, her mother, and your mother would all participate.

Hey I was wondering how much is it for y’all to do a dna test for my child and baby’s father. I’ve had a hard and stressful pregnancy because he’s not wanting to claim or do anything for his child. I’m trying but I can’t do this by myself. My sister and mother has taken the father role which I’m extremely grateful for but they shouldn’t have to do that when he’s just going about his life carefree!. Please help me out.
