Accreditation

DDC is accredited by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC). When DNA testing is needed as evidence of a genetic relationship, Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) only accepts DNA test results from an SCC-accredited laboratory. There are times when DNA testing is needed for immigration situations. The most frequent use for testing is when there are doubts about the “parent-child genetic relationship,” such as with a child (overseas) and the sponsor (living in Canada). DNA can also be used to determine if siblings are full or half siblings. For all questions, call the experts at DDC at 1-800-527-7016.

As Canada’s most trusted laboratory, our goal is help you through the paternity testing process with compassion and confidentiality. Please read our testing information below—we’ve made the process very simple and convenient for you.

Paternity Testing

Choosing a Test:

Simply call for a free, confidential consultation. Our case managers are ready to answer  questions and help you determine which testing options are best for your situation.

The test our clients choose most often is our standard legal paternity yest, wherein we test the child, alleged father and mother (called a trio). Because we arrange DNA-sample collection and the entire testing process(from start to finish) is supervised by an approved witness, the results produced are a legal document, and can be used for a wide variety of purposes.

If you’re only seeking private confirmation of paternity, you might consider a “home” collection. The collection process is simple and painless. You’ll receive the same quality testing as the legal paternity test, but the results cannot be used for legal purposes.

We also accept paternity cases in which the mother is not available for testing (called a motherless test), and we offer several specialty paternity-testing options such as paternity testing while pregnant and immigration DNA testing.

Paying for a Test:

Legal Testing

The fee for a legal paternity test is $475, which includes taxes and shipping. The laboratory that collects your samples charges a separate collection fee, usually $30-$50 per person. For your convenience, we pre-pay these fees and add them to your final bill. Before we can book your appointment, we need to receive a partial payment of $100.

At-Home Testing

The fee for a paternity test when you collect the samples at  home is $275. This fee includes taxes and shipping. We’ll send the kit directly to the location of your choice.

We accept credit cards, Western Union, and personal checks for payment.

Please contact us at 1-800-527-7016  for more information or to book your appointment.
