Cincinnati, OH. U.S.A. November 15, 2005 — DNA Diagnostics Center (DDC), one of the world’s largest DNA paternity testing laboratories, announced today that it has been awarded a statewide contract by the State of Ohio to provide genetic testing services to Ohio families seeking child support through state child support enforcement agencies (CSEA). This award follows a competitive bidding process that included some of the nation’s prominent paternity testing companies.
In addition to privately initiated paternity cases, DDC currently performs contract paternity testing for other states and localities, including Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Minnesota. DDC is one of only three contractors that received the multi-award Ohio contract. The contract is effective starting December 2005 through June 2007, with an optional extension of 2 years for the state.
“DDC is very happy to be able to provide families in our home state with what we feel is the best DNA testing in the world. We have a comprehensive customer support system in place to meet the demands of Ohio and its unique counties, through both our knowledgeable support staff and our Internet portal designed for easy tracking of cases,” says Dr. Susannie Lee, Director of Operations at DDC.
Part of DDC’s strict quality control measures is the DDC Dual Process™, in which all samples are independently tested twice by two separate technical teams. This procedure exceeds the standards required by the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB), which sets the laboratory standards for the paternity testing industry worldwide. The AABB requires testing twice only paternity cases in which the alleged father is excluded. The Dual Process™ is used in all DDC paternity tests, eliminating possible errors and ensuring the reliability of all testing results.
With its world headquarters strategically located in Fairfield, a suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio, DDC can work with the State to provide more Ohio families with access to the highest quality DNA testing services and world-class customer service.
