Scott Cramer

Scott Cramer  

President & Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Cramer has over 30 years’ experience in corporate leadership, commercialization, sales, and marketing-management with global medical-device and diagnostic companies. Presently, Scott serves as President and CEO of DNA Diagnostics Center (DDC), a leading global DNA-testing company based in Fairfield, Ohio, which offers testing services such as paternity, immigration, ancestry, veterinary, and forensics through multiple channels including direct-to-consumer, retail, distributors, and government bodies.

He previously served as President and CEO of Accriva Diagnostics, a global diagnostics company specializing in the coagulation market, which was acquired by Werfen in January 2017. Prior to Accriva, Mr. Cramer served as President and CEO of Novasys Medical, a company in the female incontinence space, which was acquired by Roper Industries in December 2012; he also served as President and CEO of Bacchus Vascular, Inc., a vascular disease treatment company, which was acquired by Covidien plc in March 2009. Scott was Senior Vice President of U.S. Sales and Account Services for VNUS Medical Technologies, which was also acquired by Covidien plc. Prior to VNUS Medical, Scott had an extensive sales leadership career serving as Vice President U.S. Sales at EndoSonics Corporation, which later became Volcano Corporation, National Sales Manager at Cardiometrics, Inc., a medical device company which was acquired by Endosonics Corporation, and several positions at Baxter Healthcare Corporation’s cardiovascular division.

Scott currently serves on the Board of Directors of DNA Diagnostics Center, Veran Medical, and is Chairman of Biocoat, Inc. He previously served on the Board of Directors of Accriva Diagnostics, NeuWave Medical (Chairman), Vascular Insights, Venous Health, AccuVein, Bacchus Vascular and Novasys Medical. Scott holds a B.S. degree in Finance from the Philadelphia University.

Dr. Michael Baird  

Chief Science Officer

Dr. Baird is Chief Science Officer, Laboratory Director, and DNA Technical Leader. He received his doctorate in genetics from the University of Chicago. He then joined LifeCodes, where he held the positions of, Senior Scientist, Laboratory Director, and Vice President of Laboratory Operations. Dr. Baird has published over 50 articles in peer review journals as well as chapters in books about the use of DNA for identification. He was the first to testify in a criminal trial involving DNA evidence and has since testified in over 350 criminal cases.

Dr. Baird currently serves as a chair of the Relationship Testing Standards Committee of the AABB, is a fellow in the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, and member of the AABB, American Society of Human Genetics, the American Genetics Society, the American Society of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics, the International Society of Forensic Genetics, and the American Society of Hematology.

Karen Schellin is Chief Financial Officer of DNA Diagnostics Center, Inc. (DDC) and is responsible for Finance, Accounting and Information Technology.   Karen has over 30 years of leadership experience in finance, operations and systems in dynamic high growth companies spanning healthcare, retail, insurance and manufacturing industries.

Prior to joining DDC, Karen held various positions of increasing responsibility including VP Finance for Assurex Health and VP Finance and Operations for EyeMed Vision Care (a division of Luxottica Retail).   Karen received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Northern Kentucky University, and her CPA license (currently non-practicing) from the State of Ohio.

David Silver  

Vice President of Marketing

David Silver is the Vice President of Marketing at DDC. He has over 10 years of marketing and strategy experience in consumer products, consumer services, and brand marketing. Since joining in 2011, David leads marketing for DDC in North America. Prior to joining DDC, he worked in brand management for SunnyD Delight Beverages Company, a Private Equity owned beverage business acquired from Procter & Gamble.

David has also held management positions at NewPage Corporation (formerly the coated paper division of MeadWestvaco), Kimberly-Clark Corporation, Intelliseek (formerly Planetfeedback, Inc.), and PriceWaterhouseCoopers. He received his Bachelors Degree from Boston University and an MBA from Indiana University.

Daniell Leigh

Vice President of Global Business Development 

Daniell Leigh is the Vice President of Global Business Development for DDC. Daniell is responsible for planning, development, contracting and expansion into new and existing territories throughout the US and internationally. He has worked in the DNA testing industry since 2002 and across multiple international markets on a variety of new initiatives with private organizations, governments and regional authorities.

Prior to joining DDC, he held key management positions in the genetics, aviation technology and international tourism sectors managing sales and marketing teams worldwide. Daniell received his BND and HND in business and marketing management from BCOT in the United Kingdom.

Kathy Leis

Kathy Leis

Vice President of Operations

Kathy Leis is the Vice President of Operations for DDC. In this role, Kathy is responsible for the coordination and oversight of daily operations across multiple departments including the laboratory, accessioning, case management and government contracts. Kathy joined DDC in 2012 where she served as the Director of Operations for the government contracts division, prior to being appointed to VP of Operations in 2014.

Prior to joining DDC, Kathy held various positions of increasing responsibility, with the most recent being Director of Operations for Orchid Cellmark at the Dayton facility. Kathy holds a BS degree in Medical Technology from the University of Dayton and is certified as Medical Technologist by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).

Vice President of Consumer Operations

Jason Judd is Vice President of Consumer Operations for DDC.  Jason is responsible for the daily operations and oversight of multiple divisions at DDC including, Inside Sales, Contact Center Operations, Satellite Locations, and Logistics and Supply Chain.  Jason joined DDC in 2007.

Prior to joining DDC Jason owned and operated a private counseling practice.  In 2004 Jason managed the Crisis Counseling unit in Warren County.  Jason received a BA in Psychology as well as Master of Arts in Counseling from Cincinnati Christian University.  Jason also received his Clinical Counseling license from the State of Ohio.  Jason resides in Maineville with his wife and 4 children.

Vice President of Fertility and Family Planning

Ed Leary is the Vice President of Fertility and Family Planning at DDC. He joined DDC in 2018 as part of DDC’s acquisition of ContraVac, Inc. where he served as Founder and CEO. He is responsible for DDC’s SpermCheck Home Male Fertility Test product line and the product and business development related to new products in DDC’s Fertility and Family Planning business unit.

Previously, he served as CFO of Neoantigenics, Inc. a biotech company focused on developing oncology therapeutic and diagnostic products utilizing oocyte (egg)-associated cancer neoantigens discovered at the University of Virginia. Prior to Neoantigenics,  Mr. Leary held the position of CFO for biotech company Hemoxymed, Inc., Corporate Controller for Visio Corporation, a diagramming application software company and CFO for Medical Innovations Corporation, developers and marketers of catheters for gastro-centric feeding. He is a CPA and received his Bachelor’s Degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
