DDC Provides Supply-Chain Assistance to Medical Providers
FAIRFIELD, Ohio, March 30, 2020
To do our part to help people obtain faster diagnostic answers to their COVID-19 questions, DDC is leveraging our supply-chain processes to expedite an important and much sought-after test to medical providers.
COVID-19 LAB TEST KIT
For patients who suspect they currently have COVID-19: DDC will be manufacturing COVID-19 diagnostic kits that use oropharyngeal (throat) swabs to collect patient samples. DDC is offering these sample-collection kits to select medical providers who will collect samples that are then shipped to designated laboratories for analysis.
We’re here to help—however we can
DDC is pleased to give assistance to the medical community as we work to help the public get and stay healthy during these difficult times. Be assured we are also processing tests for our customers.

Message from the DDC CEO
FAIRFIELD, Ohio, March 18, 2020
In the wake of the news surrounding COVID-19 and its spread across the globe, the health and safety of our customers, partners, and employees are our top priorities.
We understand the critical role our testing provides our shared customers in the best of times, and now this moment will be even more important than ever to some of them.
I wanted to share some of the steps DDC is taking to maintain business continuity and support for our customers.
How we’re supporting customers and providing uninterrupted service
As a long-established and accredited lab-based testing company, we have the inherent advantage of having tools and processes in place to continue our business operations uninterrupted. Currently, DDC is fully operational and conducting business as usual, and will continue to do so as long as we are able.
We are prepared and don’t expect to miss a beat. As always, DDC provides around-the-clock testing Monday through Friday for all customers around the globe. Our customer-service teams are standing by to answer your product questions, set up tests, and provide assistance during our normal business hours.
How we’re keeping DDC employees safe
Thankfully, the DDC team is healthy and focused on mitigating any disruptions during this stressful time. Your samples are safe with our laboratory teams—before this crisis, during this crisis, and after the crisis, we have maintained and will continually maintain strict protocols to prevent the spread or dissemination of biological materials. Not only are our lab professionals safe, but you can be assured they continue to conduct testing as usual with all safety protocols in place.
Our leadership team has executed an emergency-response plan with guidelines for working and managing teams remotely—where possible—and have taken steps to spread out staff who are not able to work remotely across the facility to support social distancing and take fullest advantage of our very large, state-of-the-art facility. We have implemented self-check health stations and installed additional sanitizer stations throughout the building, while implementing additional cleaning procedures multiple times per day.
We will keep you updated and communicate any new information on our website and social media channels as the situation continues to unfold.
We’re here to help
We recognize that the current events impact us all in every city, state, and country. We are doing everything we can to ensure our safety and continuity and hope the same for all of you.
In the meantime, and most importantly, please take good care of yourselves and your loved ones.

Yes, DDC is Open for Business!
FAIRFIELD, Ohio, March 12, 2020
As the effects of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) are being felt all over the world, it is not surprising that we are affected and taking precautions here in Ohio as well—where the DDC laboratory is located. Ohio’s Governor Mike DeWine announced today that the state is closing schools for the next three weeks—effective Monday, March 16—and has banned gatherings of more than 100 people.
We share this with you to keep you informed and to ensure you that we are working hard to take care of you, our customers, as well as our employees here at home.
Over the coming weeks, in order to meet demand while supporting our staff, there may be minor delays in our turnaround times – measured in days, not weeks.
What this means:
DDC continues receiving and processing samples from around the world and will post your results as soon as possible
- There may be a slight uptick in phone wait-times
- Results may be delayed
- The DDC team will continue to provide the quality of service you expect with results you can trust
Please take care during the coming weeks and months ahead during this time of global struggle and know that we are proud and honored to support you.
Hi, We are planning to do IVF in near future. Is there any test you can do to make sure they are using our sperm and eggs .
Hi, Brian. No, we don’t offer preconception testing services.
I sent my stuff off on the 19th and it’s still not here. I paid for the 2 day wait. I want to get the results asap
Hi, Kyla. Unless you used FedEx for express delivery, chances are good that your samples are still on their way to our lab. There are some delays with USPS, especially with holiday closures. Once your samples arrive and testing begins, your results are posted in 2 business days.
Just wondering I put my test in the envelope that came with the test. I put it in the post office box. May 24 where do I go with the tracking number to see where it is at.
Hi, Bj. If you copy and paste or type in the tracking number into your browser’s search window, it will give you options for tracking.
I understand but it’s been about a week now just checking on my kit.
Hi, Robert. If you used the prepaid mailer included in the kit, it can take 5-10 business days for the postal service to deliver them to us, depending on how reliable the service is in your area as well as ours. You can expect to receive an email once samples are received and testing begins. Once processing starts, your results will be uploaded to your secure online account in 1-2 business days.
good morning I want to know why when my child is father took the test that names did not appear on the paper you’re not one of us
Hi, Ilea. We do not put names on reports for home tests since DNA is collected at home and therefore identities of test participants haven’t been independently verified. When customers order a legal test, there are names on the report since DNA collection is witnessed and other chain-of-custody processes are followed.
Hi – i know this lab is in Ohio – we are in the UK and have recently sent a test off to you and are awaiting results – please tell me we are not sending our test as far os Ohio?
Hi, Laura. Yes, tests from all over the world come here to our laboratory in Ohio. They are perfectly safe and are either overnighted or sent 2-day.
I sent the test off three days ago & still haven’t heard anything back yet should I be concerned?
Hi, Lyssa.
If you used the postage-paid envelope included in the kit, it can take 5-10 business days for USPS to deliver it to us. Once samples arrive and processing begins, we’ll send you a notification email with an ETA for results, and the report is generally posted in 1-2 business days.
I’m in us. My fiancé is in Ecuador. She took her blood test Monday (non invasive paternity) and her test won’t arrive until this Monday (7days) , Willie have to retake the test ? How long does my swabs last too ?
It should be just fine, Carlos. A preservative helps to protect the blood sample. A swab sample can last up to 6 months if kept dry and cool.
Have sent in my sample almost a month ago, have not received results my account show NOT ACTIVE but got a confirmation email
When will I get my results ?
Hi, Adrian. We tried contacting you by phone but no voicemail is setup for your number, so we are sending you an email. You are also welcome to contact us directly at 800-831-1906 (M-F, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm Eastern Time).
I canceled my order and have been waiting for my refund and it’s been over 10 days .
Hi, Brittany. Your refund was requested on March 12 and can take 10 business days to process. Thanks for your patience!
Per the USPS tracking number my test was delivered to a person in your office on Friday March 20th and I have not even received and email that you have the test. How much longer can I expect to wait?
Hi, Michael. Our records show two emails have been sent so far to the email address you used to make this comment, beginning on March 20. Please check your spam folder. There was a lab delay of one day due to the need for additional testing, but your results are due today. Once your report is posted and ready to view/download, a final email will be sent.
Thank you for your prompt response. I will check my spam folder.
You’re very welcome. Thanks for testing with us! If you need further assistance, you’re welcome to call us at 800-831-1906 or contact us privately via Facebook Messenger: https://www.facebook.com/DDCPaternity
I’m trying to login and check on my test but it says its inactive…
Hi, Vancent. You won’t be able to log in to your account until you receive a notification from us that your report is ready to view. Then your account is activated.
I have just ordered a test for my son. Just want to confirm before i send it in that you are still analyzing DNA samples for paternity. I know some labs have been asked to focus on Covid 19 now and I don’t want to overwhelm your system. Please let me know if it is OK to send it in.
Hi, Donna. Our laboratory is processing DNA samples for relationship testing. You may experience slight delays (measured in days, not weeks) in the posting of results due to temporarily-reduced staffing, but be assured we are still processing tests. Thanks for choosing DDC!
My at home paternity test was mailed out ten days ago. I have not yet been sent an email saying that my kit has been received. I did not put my name on the outside of the kit, and realized that after it was sent out. Will this affect me not getting an email sent? Could my test be at lab already?
Hi, Amber. Thanks for testing with us. Our records show your samples have not yet been received at our lab. Not having your name on the outside of the kit doesn’t make a difference, as long as you included your email address on the mail-in form. If you have other questions or concerns, you’re welcome to contact us directly at 800-831-1906.
I emailed you guys about my test before I send it off. My boyfriend mouthwashed before swabbing, would that alter or mask the results?
Hi, Jada. The only thing mouthwash might do is contaminate the sample…it can’t change the DNA itself. The samples are most likely fine, but if it’s determined that we can’t extract enough DNA from the swabs to complete testing, we’ll just suspend the test temporarily and send you out new DNA-collection materials free of charge so you can submit fresh samples. If you are issued a report, then the mouthwash wasn’t a problem. Hope this helps, and thanks for testing with us!
Good Afternoon
My son passed away few months ago and before his passing he had started the process of having the DNA test done but then coronavirus delay this process from being completed. I read that the best is using the mothers DNA. Where would I put my name? And/or do I need to specify on the sample. Also how accurate would it be with my DNA?
Hi, Alli. My condolences on your son’s passing. If he didn’t get far enough in the process to swab for his own sample, you can definitely test instead. I suggest you contact us directly for a free, no-obligation consultation, and one of our specialists will be happy to listen to your situation and explain your best options for testing. That number is 800-681-7162 and we’re open M-F from 8 am to 8 pm Eastern. If you are not in the U.S, you can email [email protected].
Am based in Malawi and wondering if you are still receiving samples via DHL and also if you are still analyzing DNA samples
Hi, Nomsa. The answer is yes and yes! 🙂
Okay
This is too slow. Waiting since Monday May 18th no email..!!!
Hi, T.O. If you used the postage-paid envelope included in the kit, it can take the postal service up to 10 days to deliver your samples to us. Plus there was the Memorial Day holiday recently. No worries…as soon as your samples arrive and testing begins, you’ll get a notification email.
When will I get my kit? I haven’t received an email or text saying it’s on its way yet.
Hi, Elizabeth. If you didn’t choose expedited shipping, you can expect it to arrive 5-10 business days after it was ordered.
It’s been over ten days and I still have yet to receive the email saying it’s shipped.
I mailed my kit on June 17, 2020 and I have‘t receive no notification on whether you all received it yet. I tried logging in and it is saying my account is in active What do I need to do
Hi, Sharren. Your account is not created until your test results are ready. Chances are good that your samples are still on their way here to the lab. It can take up to 10 business days for USPS to deliver. Once they’re here and testing begins, you’ll start getting notification emails, so no worries!
Hey I submitted a test July 3rd Friday when should I be expecting results ?
Hi, Ariel. Thanks for testing with us! The answer to your question depends on how you sent the samples in to the lab and which test you’re doing. If you used the postage-paid envelope included in the kit, it can take 10 days to arrive. If you chose a carrier like FedEx, then your samples arrive in a couple of days. Either way, once your samples arrive and testing begins, a notification email with an estimated due date for results is sent to the address associated with the test.
I got a notice that my results were ready. Girlfriend paid the remaining amount, when should we be able to login-it says my account has not been activated
Hi, Jonathan. You should be able to log in. If you cannot, please contact us for assistance at 800-831-1906 (M-F, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm Eastern).
Hi I ordered my kit jan 9th an it hasnt came in the mail I was just wondering what was going on its the 23rd.
Hi, Saibrah. Your kit was sent on January 12, and it can take up to 2 weeks for USPS to deliver. It should arrive shortly!
High I ordered a kit last week. How can I get a tracking number for my order
Hello, Justin. I just emailed you. Please check your inbox or spam folder.
Sent it out in the mail how do i track it ?
Hi, Rebecca. If you saved the tracking number from the mailing envelope, just enter that number in your browser’s search field and it’ll give you options for tracking.
Hi I’m just wondering when my text will be mailed out to me
Hi, Duane. All communications are sent automatically when triggered by an action on the bar code: for example, samples have arrived or results are ready.
