Genetic Data & Your Privacy
Feb 5, 2025: We are aware that a YouTube creator has recorded a video purporting to have a conversation with a representative regarding a recent high-profile Non-invasive Prenatal Paternity Test case. This call appears to have been to another company (not to DDC) that does not have access to our case files. We have not, and will not, share information about specific cases without the explicit consent of the tested parties.
Protecting Your Most Personal Information
At DDC, we understand the deeply personal nature of genetic testing. Whether you’re seeking answers about relationships or other DNA-related inquiries, protecting your privacy is our top priority. Our commitment to confidentiality ensures that your sensitive data remains secure, processed only for the purpose you authorize, and never shared without your explicit consent.
DNA Processing: Limited Scope, Maximum Security
We follow strict protocols to ensure that your genetic data is handled with care:
- Purpose-Driven Testing – We only extract the specific genetic information necessary for your requested test. For example, in a paternity test, we do not extract, use, or store any information about genetic health conditions, ancestry, or any other genetic traits—only the DNA markers required to determine biological relationships. No additional data is processed or stored beyond what is relevant to your case.
- Sample Retention & Destruction – Your DNA samples are securely stored for a limited amount of time (varies based on the type of test ordered) in case additional testing is needed. After this period, all samples are permanently destroyed. However, if you prefer, we can destroy your sample immediately after testing upon request for our peace-of-mind testing. Please note that our accredited legal tests are subject to the legal and accredited standards for each test and jurisdiction, where sample retention for six months is typically required.
Strict Data Disclosure Policy
We maintain the highest standards for data security and confidentiality:
- Secure Access to Results – We never disclose DNA test results over the phone. Instead, all consumer DNA test results are securely delivered through our encrypted online portal or via direct mail to a verified tested party.
- Controlled Information Sharing – Your test results remain confidential and will never be shared with third parties unless legally required or explicitly authorized by you.
High-Profile Client Protection
For clients who require an extra level of security, we implement enhanced privacy measures:
- Restricted Access – High-profile individual data is stored in a secure, isolated database with access limited to only essential personnel.
- Confidential Processing – Our team is trained to handle high-profile cases with discretion and professionalism, ensuring absolute confidentiality throughout the testing process.
At DDC, your genetic data is in safe hands. Trust us to provide accurate results with the highest level of privacy and security.
